Polymer clay Popsicle dangles

I have been using polymer clay since I was seven years old. Some of my favorite brands are Sculpey and Premo. I have used Fimo but find it a little difficult to sculpt as it tends to dry out faster. Polymer clay basically  is a mix between Playdough  and the clay you get strait from the ground.Unlike Playdough, Polymer clay does not dry out as easily but it would be safer to put it in a sealed Ziploc bag, just to be sure.  Unlike hard clay, it does not need  to be cooked in a kiln, but simply cooked in a regular oven at 233°F (112°C) for 15 minutes. I tend to use polymer clay the most, but I will sometimes make things out of store bought  beads, for a more professional look. For my first post, I will show you how to make  Polymer clay Popsicle dangles.

First, you get your choice of color for the top of  the Popsicle, (I chose salmon pink).

Then take some tan , golden brown, or ecru clay for the Popsicle stick.

Gently  smooth the larger ball of clay with your thumb and fore finger into
more of a Popsicle shape.Then smooth it over with  your thumb.  

Now, take a toothpick , and poke it  about a half a centimeter in to the bottom of  the Popsicle shape to look like ...  

this!  Ta -da!

Take the ball of clay  for the  Popsicle stick, and roll it into a snake
about a centimeter long.

Now push the snake into the hole in the Popsicle. Now you have the basic Popsicle.

Now take a piece of wire about 2 inches long ...

and bend the top down and twist so it looks like this.

Gently  push the wire into the Popsicle.

Cut another piece of  wire to about  an inch and a half long. Loop it through
an earring hook and the wire loop on top of the Popsicle and pinch it closed.

Now bake, and wear!

P.S. don't  wear em on a hot summers day : they might melt ;).
