Super simple lily pad clips

For this post, I will show you how to make Super simple lily pad clips. These Flowery delights take the least amount of time out of all my posts so far. These are really simple and easy to make, and like I said, they don't require a lot of time.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 scraping tool
  • 1 cutting tool
  • a small  ball of yellow clay
  • a relatively big ball of green clay
  • a relatively big ball of white clay
  • one clip

First, take your ball of green clay...
...and squish it down to create a green pancake.

It should look like this.
Take your cutting tool and cut a little triangle on the edge of the pancake to create a pacman shape.
It should look something like this.
Next, take your ball of white clay and stick your thumb into the center of the ball, tocreate a white cup shape.
Pinch around the edges of  the white cup shape.
This is the basic lily shape.
If you flip over the basic lily shape, it should look some what like this.

Now take your yellow ball of clay, and roll it into a small cone shape.

It should look like this.

Press the fat end of your yellow cone shape to the center of the upside of the basic lily shape.

Now, take your scratching tool and gently press the tips of the scraping tool to make small dots on the yellow center of the  flower.
You might want to take the center of the flower of for this.

It should look like this.

Next, press the lily onto the lily pad.
Finally, press the lily and lily pad onto your clip. Tweezing Tip:You might want a bigger clip than the one I used for this post.

Bake and wear!
These tiny trinkets aren't as pretty as the real thing, but they are still beautiful in every respect.

Author's note: it is a better idea to bake the lilypad before attaching to the clip with your choice of glue.another option is to attach it to the clip before baking, but to attach with sculpey bake and bond adhesive.
